2008 Monroe X Berry Litter The hallmark of the Newfoundland breed is their loving, devoted personality, however they are NOT a breed for everybody. Newfoundland dogs DO drool, they DO shed and require a lot of daily maintenance and training. With a lot of time and training, they will make a wonderful family companion. Heart, hip and elbow problems are a huge problem in the breed. Make sure you double check every breeder's claim of "Clear Heart, Hips and Elbows" by checking the OFA database. Please consider this all before continuing your search for a Newfoundland puppy. I recommend you visit the following links: Newfoundland Club of America Puppy Buyer's Info
